No matter what your body shape, type, and weight, it isn’t unusual for women to feel self-conscious, but what should we do about it?

The relationship between my weight, self-perception, and self-worth has always been tremulous. But at the age of 28, at the heaviest I have been, I have finally trained my mind to deal with any negative thoughts about my weight that would prevent me from living my life.

Of course, being human means that the inevitable negative thoughts still manage to creep their way back in. Especially before sex. Being naked can be an extremely vulnerable experience and the time when my mind struggles the most.

So, how do I deal with these thoughts?

Of course, there are physical things I do, sexy lingerie as well as being showered and shaved is a must. But this isn’t enough, working on how I mentally think of, see and speak to myself is just as important as physical preparation.

I didn’t want negative thoughts to stand in the way of my sex life and my relationship.
