A list inspired by Barack Obama

As you are probably aware by now, President Barack Obama writes lists of what he is reading and listening to, right here on Medium! Although I believe that music is one of the most magical things on planet earth, transcending time and language barriers. I don’t listen to music on a daily or even weekly basis. And so I have curated a reading list for you all.

I tend to ‘read’/listen books on audible, and I have listened to some great and some less great books over the last few months and wanted to share all of them with you in the hope that you find something you also love among them.

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

This is a Dark Fantasy/Romance retelling following Hades and Persephone from the Greek myth. And I loved it. It frames Hades and the underworld in a new light for me, something that I appreciate when trying to make my way through the haze of grief. The underworld and Hades have always been portrayed as this evil place, much like Hell (I blame Disney for that). This series opened me up to further research and I have now learnt that the Greeks believed that Hades took over care of souls once they died, and the underworld could be a place of rest, peace, care, happiness and healing. I moved straight onto A Touch of Ruin and A Touch of Malice. At the time…
